(十八大·基层代表风采)(1)阿梅:带着高原群众的心声到北京

On Nov. 8, 2012, A Mei (the third one in the front left) arrives at Tiananmen Square to attend the opening of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. A Mei is a delegate from Nagqu Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. Only four months ago, she took up her position as the Party secretary for Lha Xi Town, having previously worked in Baqên Township, Baqên County.

As a grass-root cadre, A Mei seldom has time to sit in the office. Most of her time is either spent in people's homes or on the bumpy village roads. During her five years in Baqên Township, A Mei not only efficiently solved the grassland disputes which have been troubling locals for years, but also widened the township's roads and improved the town government's office environment. She also helped plan the construction of new commercial houses and implemented the system of an assigned spot for garbage recycle and disposal. "As a Communist and a township cadre, I feel that no matter how small an issue may be, it is still big to me. I normally write down people's demands and opinions in my notebook, learn them by heart and remind myself of them every now and then," A Mei said. During the past years, A Mei has already accumulated dozens of such notebooks. A Mei brings these notebooks with all the heartfelt voices from her local people to Beijing to be part of the Party Congress.

"As long as your exchanges with people come from the heart, people will recognize you," A Mei added.
