Malaysian PM to Visit China for ASEAN-China Commemorative Summit

Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will head the Malaysian delegation to the upcoming ASEAN-China Commemorative Summit to be held soon in Nanning, China, according to Malaysia's national news agency Bernama on Friday.

 

Badawi will attend a plenary session of the two-day summit on Monday, where he will take the opportunity to exchange views with Chinese and other Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) leaders on regional and international issues as well as the future direction of the ASEAN -China dialogue relations.

 

Badawi is also scheduled to attend the opening ceremonies of the Third China- ASEAN Expo and Third China- ASEAN Business and Investment Summit.

 

Badawi will be accompanied by Malaysian Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar, International Trade and Industry Minister Rafidah Aziz to the summit, convened to mark the 15th anniversary of dialogue relations between ASEAN and China.
