The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced on Wednesday it would
start a new dumping investigation into BPA (bisphenol A) imported
from Japan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Singapore, and Taiwan
Province.
As a rule, the investigations are expected to end within one
year, but it could last till February 29, 2008, under unforeseen
conditions, the ministry said.
The ministry ended a dumping investigation into BPA imported
from Japan, Singapore, Russia, the ROK, and Taiwan Province in
November last year.
BPA is the main raw material in the production of epoxy resin
and polycarbonate resin. For a long time, China's BPA supply has
depended on imports.
