Beijing posted 168.16 billion yuan (US$21 billion) of gross
domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter this year, a
year-on-year rise of 13.3 percent, according to Beijing Municipal
Statistics Bureau.
The added value of agriculture, animal husbandry, fishery and
forestry was 1.16 billion yuan, a decrease of 8.9 percent from the
same period last year; the added value of industrial and
construction sectors soared 17.8 percent to reach 46.86 billion
yuan.
The tertiary sector including commerce, finance, investment and
commercial services made an added value of 120.14 billion yuan in
the first three months, up 11.9 percent over last year's same
period.
