Sino-German Environmental Conference to Open

China and Germany will co-sponsor a conference on environment management and industrial cooperation in central Hunan Province, said an official at a press conference in Beijing Tuesday.

 

The conference will include seminars on environmental management of mid-sized and small businesses, competition of environmental industries, disposal of hazardous wastes and government environmental management. It will also encourage business delegations from the two countries to cooperate in environmental, automobile and hi-tech industries.

 

According to Tang Dingding, an official from the State Environmental Protection Administration, the two countries will encourage trade and economic cooperation in transferring environmental technologies between mid-and small-sized businesses, energy and recycling economy. 

 

Peng Xianfa, mayor of Xiangtan city in Hunan, where the conference will be held, said the two sides would benefit from the cooperation. Germany, a leading manufacturer of environmental protection equipment, is troubled by the competitive European market and seeks overseas markets. Xiangtan, an old manufacturing base of electronic equipment, is looking to building the emerging

environmental industries.

 

According to Peng, the city has built an industrial park for German environmental business.
