The DuPont company has donated 2 million yuan (US$240,000) to the Environmental Science and Technology Award. The award was established recently by the State Environmental Protection Administration and the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences to encourage organizations and individuals to be more creative and innovative in their research on environmental science and technology.

The money will be divided into two parts and used for this year and next year's awards. This year's award is expected to be granted in October in Beijing.
