In recent years China has been working hard to protect the country's cultural heritages, both tangible and intangible.

Recently, experts and historians of the country have gotten together in Beijing to discuss the classification of various historical sites in China.

The experts have brought forward the notion of a cultural landscape legacy, which covers both the concrete historical site, and the cultural connotation it carries. Such fine examples include the Silk Road, and Wutai Mountain.

The State Administration of Cultural Heritage of China and related departments are working to strengthen the protection of the country's untransferable sites, with core attention to the ecological environment surrounding the sites.
